Please don't happen again at least until I am back teaching in the classroom, which would be Fall or later. I have been inserting my own youtube video lectures in my powerpoint files Office , and upload to LMS for students. It was easy, simple, and students love it, and I love it. And it worked until pm this afternoon, then after dinner, when I tried to do the same thing, I got an error message saying: "Powerpoint cannot insert a video from the selected file.
Verify that the necessary bit codec for this media format is installed, then try again. Searched support, help No program installed, no change, I only went to eat dinner!

I have tried the following solutions:. Install the software package for codec, which I noticed was the specific error message I was receiving. While I hope these solutions help other users, there seems to be something larger at play with this problem. It is crucial that there be a solution or bug fix soon because we use PowerPoints and videos for distance learning. We understand that everything going on is new, and my family is extremely grateful to the tech corporations and employees for being proactive.
Please let me know when there is a stable solution to this problem. At this time, I have spent several hours fiddling with the programs on both computers and have yet to find a solution to this issue.

It didn't work. I had exact same problem on exact same day. Worked with a Microsoft tech for over 2 hours with no luck. Then it resolved itself as mysterious as it happened.
